    Pamela Bell is the Chief Everything Officer at the New Zealand Institute of Building. She is also an Innovation Consultant and Board Director for a range of start-ups, Council controlled entities and commercial organisations in the built environment. Pamela is passionate about innovative construction, affordable housing, and added-value timber. She has subject matter expertise in offsite manufacturing, design-thinking approaches, dynamic strategy, and future-focused governance. Her diverse background spans: Olympic-level sport (snowboard racing Nagano, Japan), Architecture research and writing (MArch, Kiwi Prefab book + exhibition), Business entrepreneurship (PrefabNZ Inc, Fruition Apparel Ltd, NZ Snowboard Academy Ltd), Governance (including XFrame, Urban Plus, Seaview Marina, Abodo Wood, ConCOVE, MBIE Building Advisory Panel + BRANZ). Pamela founded the peak body for innovative construction, PrefabNZ, in 2010 from her Master of Architecture thesis Kiwi Prefab which was also turned into a book and museum exhibition. She handed over the reins in 2019 when offsite construction reached a tipping point of awareness for central government, the construction industry, and the public alike. Pamela has been the lucky recipient of several awards including the Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) Alumni Award (2019). She is an Adjunct Professor at VUW investigating the relationship between design thinking and business. Most recently she has become intrigued about the interface between design thinking and governance for the boardroom with a series of articles and interactive workshops for the New Zealand Institute of Directors. In 2016 he joined the Board of the Passive House Institute New Zealand. An experienced presenter, facilitator and podcaster, Matthew has interviewed over 200 architects, builders and industry experts from around the World on the Home Style Green podcast. He is also the co-host of the Passive House Podcast. Prior to training as an engineer, Matthew was an Outward Bound instructor in New Zealand and the US.
